Here is an original small watercolour painting by the French artist Charles Kiffer (1902 - 1992), depicting reclining women. Circa 1935. Unsigned, but it came from his studio sale in 2011, and it has the sale’s stamp to the reverse.

Kiffer is famous for his sketches of actors and performers many of which became posters. One of he most famous posters is of Maurice Chevalier.
From 1918 he attended the Ecole Nationale Superieure des Beaux Arts in Paris. He illustrated many of the publicity posters for stars like George Guetary (1933), Charles Trenet, Edith Piaf (1936) and Bridgette Bardot. During the second World War he was engaged by the French airforce to paint camouflage for the aircraft. After the war he resumed his work of drawing the stars and theatre scenes from Paris - including many decorations for the Casino de Paris. He continued to live in Paris until his death in 1992.
