Here is a rare snd authentic 1851 The Great Exhibition commemorative coin or medal featuring the Crystal Palace the purpose built building to host the Great Exhibition, designed by Joseph Paxton. The coin features detailed engravings, including cherubs, a crown, and a portrait of Queen Victoria. The reverse side describes the dimensions and significance of the Crystal Palace , a historic icon of the first world’s fair held in London’s Hyde Park. The building was then moved to it’s new location, now Crystal Palace that took the of the building. Tragically the building burn down in a fire, however remnants of some of the decorative features of the building still remain in the park.
