A Life Lived Among the Arts
"Curated by Experts. Preserved for Posterity."
At Posterity in Posters, we believe that great art shouldn't just be hidden in archives—it should live on your walls. Our passion lies in the intersection of history, travel, and design.
Our Collection
We specialize in two distinct worlds of poster art:
-
Original Vintage Posters: Authentically sourced, historical lithographs and advertisements. These are physical pieces of history, curated for the serious collector who values rarity and provenance.
-
Curated Reproductions: For those who love the aesthetic of the "Golden Age," we offer hundreds of print-on-demand reproductions. We don't just "hit print"—we carefully select and prepare these travel and advertising designs to ensure they retain the vibrance and detail of the originals.
Why Posterity in Posters?
Whether you are looking for a mid-century airline advertisement to complete a room or a rare 19th-century original as an investment, we treat every piece with the respect it deserves. We are dedicated to helping you find art that tells a story.
"Long before I began my career in the international auction trade, I was a student of the arts at home. I grew up in a house where every wall and corner held a story, surrounded by a lifetime’s collection of antiques and fine art.
My path was guided by my parents, who both shared a profound reverence for history. My mother was a preeminent art historian and served as the Academic Director at the Sotheby's Institute, shaping the minds of the next generation of the art world and where she dedicated her life to the study of visual culture. My father was an avid collector whose passion for the hunt never faded; upon his retirement, he turned that lifelong hobby into a second career as an antique dealer.
My professional journey began in the halls of legendary auction houses like Christie’s, but my obsession with the poster started with a single, unexpected moment.
I remember walking into my first major poster exhibition there. At the time, I wasn't yet a specialist in the field; I was just someone who appreciated art. But as I stood in that room, I was absolutely blown away. I had never seen art of that scale, in such incredible volume, all at once. The bold colors of the travel advertisements and the elegant lines of the Art Nouveau masters didn't just sit on the walls—they commanded the room.
In that moment, I fell completely in love. I realized that these weren't just 'advertisements'; they were windows into a more glamorous world. That day changed the course of my career, turning me from an observer into a lifelong student and dealer of the poster."
